What is Trouble in Terrorist Town?

Trouble in Terrorist Town is a server mod that first originated in Garry's Mod, and since then has found roots in other games like CS 1.6 and CS:GO. The objective of the game is simple -

    • Important Vocabulary -
      • Innocents - Your everyday, no-good Terrorists that have really done nothing wrong. As an innocent player, you are the most vulnerable. Innocent players risk being killed by Traitors and being wrongly accused of being a Traitor. They also cannot buy equipment. The player can pick up weapons and use them against would-be killers, but normally, players will be killed, due to the surprise nature of the attack.
      • Traitors - The bad bois in the server, these sneaky-beaky nerds like to get a lot of blood on their hands. Their job is to kill all of the Innocent players. Traitors have the toughest job because of how the Innocent normally group together. This disadvantage, however, can be their greatest strength, as when two or more Traitors team up, they can take down the entire group. Traitors identify as Innocents to the entire server, except to any fellow traitors. Of course, other players will grow suspicious when players start disappearing. Be prepared to get scanned, killed, or have to do some killing.
      • Detectives - They are special Innocents given equipment. Their group color is blue. Their job and the purpose of the equipment is to find out who the Traitors are. A Detective is generally a high profile target to Traitors, due to the Detective's ability to use their DNA scanners to scan bodies which yields evidence. Detectives, when searching bodies, can find extra information, like who he last saw.
      • Random Death Match (RDM) - The indiscriminate killing of players without proof. Any attempt to kill a player without a valid reason to kill is considered RDM and will be punished.
      • Kill on Sight (KOS) - A KOS is issued by a player who witnesses a valid reason to kill.
      • Live Check - A live check is issued by a player to see how many players are still alive. Since players are not confirmed deceased until their body is identified, live checks can be a helpful tool.
      • Identifying Bodies - Players are either alive, dead, or missing. In order to know whether someone is dead or missing, ID fallen bodies throughout the map. ID'ed bodies will show up dead on the scoreboard, helping you figure out who is left alive and who is the traitor.
    • Innocents and Detectives work together to solve murder mysteries and track down the Traitors in the group. It's a 2 v 1 situation, but be careful, as the Traitors oftentimes will beat out the Innos and Detectives simply because they're better than you.

    General Rules

No RDM (random deathmatch) of any kind. This includes killing someone without reason/ revenge RDM.

    • Ghosting will not be tolerated. Ghosting takes away the fun of the game and you very much know you'd hate it to if it happened to you.
    • No cheating, scripting or exploiting the game in any way. If you find a bug we ask that you report it on the forums so it can be dealt with. This also includes teaming with players outside your assigned role.
    • Advertising is not allowed
      • This includes, but not limited to - other communities, tiny / bit.ly links, porn, viruses. Streams, community links, and YouTube is allowed.
      • Letters in front of your name are fine ex. [CG] Kimilinni  / [AG] Vick.
    • Excessive RDM (3 or more RDMs in one round) is not tolerated in this server.
    • Do not prop push/ prop block. This includes barricading entrances so no one else can enter the room.
    • Do not mic spam/use soundboards. Mic spam can be defined as using your mic in a way that it interferes with the game play. Ex. You're telling a pointless story and people can't hear KOS.
    • Do not harass the other players/ staff. If someone expresses that they are not okay with something that is said you must not say it again. If you continue to do so you will be muted/gagged.

Breaking any of the above rules may result in a permanent ban.
    • Camping is not tolerated. Camping and delaying the round may result in a slay.
    • Giving up other Traitors while being Traitor will result in a round slay and recurring slays afterward.
    • Harassment of another player will result in a gag/mute. Continuous harassment whether verbal or written will be dealt with on the forums and you may be permanently banned.
    • Do not call a false KOS (Kill on sight) the person who called the false KOS will be punished for RDM.
    • Camping as a traitor or detective is not allowed.
    • Do not exploit the map and glitches. Such going places where you cannot take damage, where you can see through walls, or being any place the map designers did not intend for players to be. If there is a problem within the server and you know that it is not how it's suppose to be. You need to report it to higher staff and not tell other players.
    • Do not enter a T room to kill other players who go in it. You will be slayed in the middle of the round and for each person you killed in the following rounds. All people who enter the T room are considered KOS, and camping inside it to kill those who enter is just an excuse to Mass RDM.
    • Do not KOS off of sound, location, or guns. This will count as RDM.
    • Do not kill the AFKS until 1:30 remains in the round.
    • Innocents and only Innocents may claim rooms and they are allowed to do so when there is 1 minute remaining in the round.
    • Live check or KOS on remaining players cannot be called until 1:30. Live check can be called at anytime but killing someone for not answering it will count as RDM.
    • You must ask a person to ID an unidentified body unless you witness them walking directly over it without IDing.
    • If you are INNO and there is a valid KOS on you, retaliating and killing people who are following the KOS will count as RDM.
    • Traitors are not allowed to call any False KOS. This causes RDM chains and will be treated as Mass RDM.
    • This is an English based server/community and you must have at least one readable word in your name. Staff may change your name but if it is not fixed by the next map you will be kicked. Overriding this by changing your name back or leaving and coming back immediately will result in a kick and if continuous will result in a 3 day ban.

    Detective Specific Rules

    • You can only order one person at a time to do something. You must give them 3 warnings before you may put a KOS on them.
    • You cannot order a player to drop their weapons.
    • You cannot tell them to kill another player without valid reason.
    • You must be actively looking for TRAITORS.
    • All RDM rules apply to you.

Valid Reasons for Calling a KOS

    • Seeing a player kill someone and walk away from the body without identifying it. (stay calm it may be a traitor that they killed).
    • Watching a player shoot at or near other players *be very careful about this one*.
    • They are traitor baiting such as saying they are a t/traitor, they shoot at you with the intent to kill/ damage you, or they say that they killed someone.
    • A player says they have killed someone, regardless whether they did or not.
    • Watching a player shoot across the map with either an AWP or SSG-08 (Scout).
    • Witnessing a player walk over an unidentified body.
    • A player damages you for more than 5hp *be very careful about this one*.
    • A live check was called and you find an alive player who didn't respond.
    • They are the only person left who is not proven (If there are unidentified bodies then you cannot use this. It must go based off the players who are "alive" on the scoreboard).
    • You are watching a player trying to dispose of a body.
    • Asking a player to stop following you 3 times and they do not obey.
    • Player does not answer a Live Check or KOS.

    Helpful Hints

    • If you cannot use a sniper rifle, don't. You'll just get yourself killed.
    • Identified bodies are ID by color - Green, Blue and Red for their respective player group. Use this information to know who else is alive in the round.
    • Take note of people who talk to much, or talk too little during certain rounds *cough Kimi*. Traitors often get nervous or focused during their traitor rounds, so learn about your fellow terrorists.
    • Your karma is a good meter, if you know someone has low karma and they aren't being trigger happy, they are most likely an innocent.
    • Never stay alone in a room with someone that you know is better than you. Whether you or they are the Traitor, you will most likely lose.
    • Don't chase off a player you think may be a Traitor alone, you will probably die.

*Rules are subject to change, changes to the rules may happen without announcement.*

    • Server Etiquette

Staff are expected to be welcoming to newcomers, and respectable to regular players. They should be upholding rules in the most appropriate manner discussed at server meetings and more.

Staff may not abuse their powers, whether on another player, staff member, or above. If collected evidence verifies you are abusing your power, you will be removed from the Staff team, and put on cooldown, as others may want a chance to prove they're better staff material than you are.

Players are expected to be as welcoming as the staff, and make the server fun and popular. Your job as dedicated players is to keep the server flowing nicely, and invite your friends to continue the fun!
